Creating 10,000 public health problem solvers in North Carolina
The North Carolina Center for Public Health Quality (NC CPHQ) is a public-private partnership between the North Carolina Public Health Foundation (NCPHF) and the North Carolina Division of Public Health (DPH), funded by Blue Cross Blue Shield Foundation of North Carolina, The Duke Endowment, and The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. NC CPHQ collaborates with state and local partners to provide training in quality improvement (QI) methods and tools and develops, leads, and supports strategic QI initiatives for the Division of Public Health and local public health agencies in North Carolina.

The entire January/February 2012 issue of the Journal of Public Health Management and Practice is devoted to quality improvement in public health. Seven of the issue’s articles were written by and/or about North Carolina public health departments and their QI leaders. The issue is expected to have broad reach and impact.
