Andrea Cordova, BA, is the program coordinator for the NC Center for Public Health Quality. With previous experience in healthcare marketing , she is responsible for coordinating the day-to-day activities and events for the Center, and providing support to local health departments and the Division of Public Health to implement quality improvement (QI) projects. In addition, Andrea assists with developing educational and communication materials. Andrea received her B.A. in public relations from North Carolina State University.
Amanda Cornett, MPH, is the associate director for the NC Center for Public Health Quality. She provides leadership and management for Center operations and is responsible for helping develop and implement educational programs to assist local public health agencies in learning and applying quality improvement (QI) methods and tools. Amanda has over five years of experience in QI. Most recently, she helped develop the Pediatric Residency QI program at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. In addition, she has worked on state and national QI projects in conjunction with the American Academy of Pediatrics, the RAND Corporation, and NC Area Health Education Centers (AHEC). Amanda received her B.S. in biology from Western Carolina University and her master’s degree in public health from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
Denise M. Pavletic, RD, MPH, ASQ-CQIA, ASQ-CMQ/OE, serves as the Division of Public Health (DPH) senior quality improvement advisor. Her work integrates with the NC Center for Public Health Quality through leading the DPH’s QI initiatives. Most recently, she assisted in leading the nation's first State Health Agency Pilot Accreditation which helped inform the newly created Public Health Accreditation Board in preparation for national voluntary accreditation. Denise received her B.S. in Nutrition/Chemistry from the State University of New York and her master’s in public health from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and is certified as a Quality Improvement Associate through the American Society for Quality. Denise started her career as an active duty army officer and has 17 years experience in healthcare, the last 5 of which have been in QI for DPH.
Greg Randolph, MD, MPH, is the director of the NC Center for Public Health Quality. He has strong ties to North Carolina – he was born and raised in Marion NC, did his undergraduate studies at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, and received his MD from the UNC School of Medicine and a MPH from the UNC- School of Public Health. He also completed a Primary Care Research Fellowship and Preventive Medicine Residency at UNC from 1998- 2001 and is currently an Associate Professor of Pediatrics and Adjunct Associate Professor of Public Health at UNC. Dr. Randolph has over ten years of experience in quality improvement (QI), including leadership, implementation and research. He also has substantial experience in public health and public health QI, serving as a Child Health Clinic provider in the Haywood County Health Department from 1993-1998, assisting and advising the New York City Department of Health with its QI initiatives, advising the RAND Corporation with planning for the Pandemic Influenza Learning Collaborative, and recently serving as the Chair of the Division of Public Health's Child Health Learning Collaborative. In addition, Dr. Randolph has served as faculty for the Institute for Healthcare Improvement and the National Initiative for Children’s Healthcare Quality and has assisted UCLA, Cincinnati Children's Hospital, and the American Academy of Pediatrics with their QI activities. He currently serves on the American Board of Pediatrics' Maintenance of Certification Committee and the American Academy of Pediatrics' Steering Committee for Quality Improvement and Management.
